2022 Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Qualifiers draw to take place in Prague on Saturday 6 November |
The ITF has announced that the draw for the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Qualifiers will be held in Prague on Saturday 6 November at 14:00 CET. The 2021 Billie Jean King Cup Finals are taking place at Prague’s O2 Arena on 1-6 November.
The draw will be livestreamed on www.BillieJeanKingCup.com and the competition’s social media channels.
The draw will feature 18 teams, who will compete in nine home-and-away ties. The teams will include the 10 nations that finish in 3rd-12th place at the 2021 Finals, and the eight winning nations from the 2021 Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs: Great Britain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania* and Ukraine. [*Romania were the highest-ranked losing nation in the 2021 Play-offs.]
The winning nations from the 2022 Qualifiers will advance to the 2022 Finals. The 2021 Billie Jean King Cup champion and runner-up will both qualify automatically for the 2022 Finals.
France begin the defence of their Billie Jean King Cup title against Canada at 10:30 CET in Prague on Monday, before host nation Czech Republic open their campaign against Germany in the evening session (not before 17:00 CET). |
