Eight nations have advanced to the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Qualifiers following victories in the 2021 Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs, which took place in eight cities around the world on 16-17 April. This weekend’s ties were the first in the women’s World Cup of Tennis since it was rebranded as the Billie Jean King Cup in 2020.
The eight winning nations (Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine) now stand only one tie away from a place in the 2022 Finals. The draw for the 2022 Qualifiers will take place at the rescheduled 2021 Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The eight losing nations (Argentina, Brazil, China P.R., India, Japan, Mexico, Romania and Serbia) will compete in one of the three regional Group I events in 2022: Americas, Asia/Oceania or Europe/Africa.
Full coverage of the weekend’s ties – including articles, photographs and videos – is available on the English and Spanish versions of BillieJeanKingCup.com and across the competition’s social media channels.
