You are cordially invited to attend a dramatic reading of the screenplay, “Quest For Yesterday” by Carlo Mignano at the Italian American Museum on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30pm. The screenplay is based on Mignano's novel of the same name and will feature 10 readers.
About the Book:
In this narrative, the protagonist’s “quest” is to recapture the joy of the first few years of his life, when circumstances and innocence protected him from the consequences of hypersensitivity and excessive thinking.
Francesco’s problem began when his baby brother arrived and he suddenly and unexpectedly lost his mother’s full attention and affection. In the years that followed, he became an isolate – a man without aim – unable to fulfill himself; he became a man full of desires that never blossomed, due mostly to his self -fulfilling notion that everything in his life conspired to making him fail in his efforts to attain contentment.
Unaware of the fact that he – and no one else – had the power to change the character of his existence, he went from experience to experience hoping that surface change by itself would bring about the transformation he so assiduously longed for. Eventually despair settled in and Francesco was faced with the prospect of losing himself completely. Would he capitulate, or rise from the ashes? Follow him through his fantastic journey and discover sides of life we may not know exist.
