Festa di San Gennaro

Thursday, September 11 – Sunday, September 21, 2014
Monday – Thursday: 12pm – 6pm
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 12pm – 8pm

NAPOLI

Napoli, A Photographic Exhibition by Janine Coyne is currently on display and will be on exhibit at the Museum throughout the Feast.

Last year, Janine Coyne visited Naples, staying in the ancient Spaccanapoli district, where she mingled with residents and photographed the vibrant street life. While traditionally working with film, she chose to shoot Napoli with a digital camera, and the resulting photographs reflect her ability to capture subjects in timeless moments.

Janine has included six large-scale prints whose rich colors and compositions depict the natural and majestic beauty of Naples. The remaining nine photographs show the raw, inner-city street life of a city that suffers from high unemployment and other urban woes.

SS GIUSEPPE VERDI

Also on display, the original Shipbuilder's Model of the SS Giuseppe Verdi. Built in 1914, this model is the only remaining record of the historic ship that transported over 70,000 Italian immigrants to the United States between 1915 and 1924.
