On April 18, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, together with the Hansik Foundation and Korean chefs in New York, launched a Hansik mobile kitchen campaign.
As part of the “Discover Korea's Delicious Secret” campaign to promote Korean food and culture in America, the mobile kitchen offers free lunches at locations throughout New York City. Visitors have the chance to try a variety of traditional and fusion Korean foods, from cucumber kimchi burgers to bibimbap before the event ends on May 20.
The event also provides information on ingredients, recipes and Korean food culture.
Actress Kelly Rutherford from the popular TV show, Gossip Girl, is one of the many New Yorkers who has taken part in the event.
