"KEEPER OF THE FLAME"

The Italian American Museum proudly presents a film on Charlie Deleo, “The Keeper of the Flame”. The film recounts the true story of a young Italian American who grew up in poverty, served his country in Vietnam and went on to live his dream as the “Keeper of the Flame” of the most important and well known symbol of liberty and justice in the world, “The Statue of Liberty”. Mr. DeLeo, a Vietnam “Purple Heart” veteran, has been featured in over 100 newspaper, radio and television interviews and in such publications as, PARADE and Reader's Digest. His story of perserverance and dedication is of utmost importance not only to Italian Americans, but to all Americans. Please join us as we recount the story of a true American folk hero – “The Keeper of the Flame”.
Mr. DeLeo will be present at the Museum on May 12 and will be signing copies of the book, “Charlie DeLeo, Keeper of the Flame” by William C. Armstrong.

In addition to the book signing,

the film will be followed by
a Question and Answer
with Charlie DeLeo.
