“FOR LUCIANO PAVAROTTI – WITH LOVE” is a Gala Memorial and Celebration of the life and career of LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, one of the world’s all-time greatest Tenors, whose life ended on September 8, 2007. The inimitable Tenor rose from humble beginnings to achieve global renown and artistic greatness. His unforgettable 1972 appearance in La Fille du Regiment at the ness. His unforgettable 1972 “FOR LUCIANO PAVAROTTI – WITH LOVE” is a Gala Memorial and Celebration of the life and career of LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, one of the world’s all-time greatest Tenors, whose life ended on September 8, 2007. The inimitable Tenor rose from humble beginnings to achieve global renown and artistic greatness. His unforgettable 1972 appearance in La Fille du Regiment at the ness. His unforgettable 1972 appearance in La Fille du Regiment at the Metropolitan Opera, brought a frenzied ovation and catapulted him to operatic superstar status. Thereafter he thrilled audiences at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as all the major intenational theatres, for more than thirty years. He drew record-breaking audiences in his “Three Tenors” Concerts with Placido Doming and Jose Carerras, and is credited with popularizing opera with the general populace. Pavarotti did not sit on his laurels. He generously gave of himself to help and teach young artists. He sponsored the Pavarotti Competition that awarded deserving singers with recognition, assistance and opportunities. He also personally coached singers that he believed had merit.

Singers from La Scala Opera, and colleagues from the Metropolitan Opera, as well as popular artists with whom Mr. Pavarotti performed and prominent speakers will join in this tribute to their revered colleague. To the time of this writing, singers from Italy who will appear include VITTORIO GRIGULO, Tenor, a rising star who studied with Pavarotti, and was seen on his own PBS Special, ROME, LAND OF DREAMS; LAURA POLVERELLI, Mezzo-Soprano, from Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Hamburg State Opera, Montecarlo Opera, Munich State Opera, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, and numerous other primary theatres; UMBERTO CHIUMMO , Bass-Baritone, has appeared at Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, the Canadian Opera in Toronto, Opera – Massy, Paris, and at many other theatres internationally, with Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Bruno Campanella, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Ivor Bolton, to name a few. FABIANA BRAVO , Soprano, won the 5th Pavarotti Vocal Competition and went on to appear opposite the Tenor in Tosca. She has since sung with the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Dallas Opera, New York City Opera, and in major international houses. Additional celebrity artists are presently being confirmed and will be announced during November, 2007.

The program will consist of arias from operas performed by Pavarotti, Italian songs, and selections he performed in concerts with popular artists.
